SPLITTING THE EGO

This editorial operates as a visual study on the friction between exposure and concealment. Moving through an uncompromising black-and-white landscape, the sequence is fractured by a single, isolated burst of warm color, positioning the body as a map of geometric and emotional boundaries.

The progression tracks a structured shedding of outer armor. Through heavy shadows, sharp blades of light, and the calculated repetition of specific elements, the skin functions as a psychological interface—capturing a silent, dense tension frozen between absolute presence and voluntary disappearance.

BIOGRAPHY

I am a visual artist and sociologist based in Avellino, Italy. Graduated in Sociology with an academic focus on the critical structures of human presence, identity, and postcolonial perspectives, I contributed as an author to the international volume "Abdelmalek Sayad: una lettura critica" (Dado Ediciones). My photographic practice is inherently performative and clinical, deeply centered on the somatic re-elaboration of psychological trauma and the borderline spectrum. Operating simultaneously as both the investigator behind the lens and the empirical canvas in front of it, I utilize my own body as a rigid architectural interface—a physical territory where the chronic fragmentation of the ego and affective instability are performance-tested. My background in academic sociology directly informs my analytical ability to map and decode the latent architecture of human emotions, turning deeply personal trauma into a universal, resilient visual syntax of Fine Art portraiture.
